Still Glowing!

11/19/2017

As I mentioned last week, I set some new intentions at Burlycon.  And I'm happy to say I'm off to a good start.  First one, to write on this lovely blog every week.  I know it's only been one week, but so far so good!

Another of those intentions is to support more shows and performers.  This week my dear friend Chastity Svelte and I had the opportunity to attend Booty Magic Burlesque's Total Burlesque Live!  It was a great show for a new group of performers and they really did a lovely job.  They mix beauty and humor in a way that had me laughing hysterically throughout the show.  I am very exctied to see them grow as a troupe and as performers.

As for a different show, I also went and saw Justice League at the theater.  Holy moly!  Great special effects, great action sequences.  I definitely liked it way better than Batman Vs. Superman, but not nearly as much as I liked Wonder Woman.  Jason Momoa as Aqua Man was probably the best highlight, and I really liked the complexity of Cyborg.  But it felt a little rushed and there were a lot of weird things that didn't have any explanation or reasoning.  This article had a lot of the same questions as I do.  All that being said, if you love big boomy comic book films (like I do), I would recommend it.  Just don't expect compelling acting or story line.

I just had the most wonderful weekend at Burlycon X!!! For those of you who dont know, Burlycon is the premier burlesque education convention. There is no competition. There are no shows. Just classes and connections. And I made some really great connections this year!

I learned so much over and found a new love for my art. I also have set some new intentions for myself. One of which is to actually use this blog. No, I'm not joking. I want to up my media game and a big part of that starts here. So get ready for some serious work on my part.

Other plans are also in the works. Being surrounded by my glittery peers was a wonderful and inspiring experience. Making new friends and new commitments to myself was a much needed push. I'm looking forward to new adventures. Feel free to come along for the ride.

Well!  Everytime I think I'll have more free time life turns around and says "Nope!"  That's okay though.  It keeps me on my toes and out of trouble.

Back in April I had the honor of performing in Pennsylvania with Miss China Doll and Jacqueline Hyde.  It was a blast and I loved getting to meet and work with new people!  Philadelphia is such a cool place and full of so much National History!  I really enjoyed the little bit of time I had to go sight seeing.  I wish I could have gotten a closer look at the Liberty Bell!

I also recently traveled to San Francisco to visit with my sweet heart's family.  They were awesome!  His cousins really knew how to showcase their city!  They knew where the best views of The City were and even knew the best place in China Town for one stop souvenir shopping!  The food was also AMAZING!!!  You could eat at a different restaurant every day for the rest of your life and not even eat at half the restaurants in town.  A foodie's paradise!!!

When we got back from San Francisco we got some really good news.  As you might remember, my furbaby, Spike was diagnosed with Diabetes.  While my honey and I were on vacation we had the boys boarded at the vet's office.  When we picked them up after getting home, they told us that Spike had gone into remission and no longer needed insulin shots!  The insulin therapy and his new diet have done the job.  I also want to thank everyone for their prayers and kind thoughts for my little Spikey-Pooh!

Well, that's all for now!  I hope you have a happy and safe 4th Of July weekend!

At Home and Abroad

It seems I have things to talk about these days!!!  Thanks again to everyone who came out for Wicked Wednesday this month and a sparkly thank you to the enchanting Electra Mourning who was our special guest!  Stay tuned for future announcements for Silk Tease Burlesque performances!

Oh!  Remember in my last post when I mentioned I'd be performing in Pennsylvania in April?  Well here it is!!!

I am so excited to perform in this show!!!  I love to travel and to go new places and PA certainly is a place I've never been!  I'm also excited to be performing alongside my longtime mentor, Jacqueline Hyde, and with a dear friend of mine, the beautiful Miss China Doll!

On a more serious note, I found out this last week that my beloved kitty, Spike, is diabetic and will need insulin shots, twice a day, possibly for the rest of his life.  This will be a huge stress mentally and emotionally and may entail a fairly large financial cost.  Next week will be Spike's tech appointment where the vet tech will show me how to administer the insulin injections and I will get an idea of what to expect.  Please send my little fur baby all the love, prayers and good energy you can!  Thanks!

Life, Shows and Potato Soup

3/11/2016

Omg, it has been far too long since I've made a new blog post!  Not that I'm super good at posting in the first place, but I have honestly been having a lot of things happening in my personal life that has taken my focus off of performance, social media and my general web presence for a while.  Hopefully things will be calming down a bit now.

Super excited to be performing in Silk Tease Burlesque's Wicked Wednesday this month at The Highline!!!  Buy your tickets early and get a 20% discount!  You can buy them at www.silkteaseburlesque.com.  We have a special guest that you won't want to miss.  Oh and stay posted because I will be performing in an upcoming show in Pennsylvania next month!!!

On a totally unrelated note, I bought myself a Vitamix.  It makes amazing smoothies, like the kind you get at that delicious smoothie place down the road.  More importantly to me, it makes AWESOME soup.  Yes, soup.  My boyfriend's sister used her Vitamix to make me an allergy free butternut squash soup at Thanksgiving.  I was super impressed.  So this evening I decided to make my first Vitamix soup.  I chose a recipe out of the book that came with my machine.  It was for a Potato, Spinach and Chicken soup.  It was already gluten and soy free, I just needed it to be dairy free and vegetarian.  I substituted a non-chicken broth and almond milk for the regular stuff, then left out the chicken.  It turned out so creamy and filling and the Vitamix actually heated the soup to the perfect serving temperature!  I made it vegan, but you can find the original recipe here.

International

11/13/2015

The last Silk Tease Wicked Wednesday at The Highline was so much fun!!!  We had two beautiful guest performers, Ariel Helvetica and Ava Lure from Vancouver B.C.  Meeting new people is always exciting but these gals were absolutely phenomenal!  There were also plenty of international guests attending in the audience and I want to say a big THANK YOU for attending our show while in town for Burlycon.  I also want to thank everyone else who came out, especially my friend Chris who was a great sport in participating in our Intermission Game!

Auditions!!!

10/30/2015

While I'm working on my fabulousness for the Silk Tease Burlesque show at The Highline on November 11th, I'd also like to share that Silk Tease Burlesque is auditioning for new members!!!  You can find the link to the application here.  So if you have ever dreamed of being a member of a burlesque troupe here is your chance!!!

A Few New Things

10/17/2015

Officially, I have my own domain.  It's about time right?  New business cards being designed, new acts in the works and new costumes for a couple older acts!  It feels really good to get things done that are long over due!

I also have to thank all of you who came out to Wicked Wednesday this last week!  It was a blast and you were an amazing audience!  It was also awesome to welcome our new after party DJ Brian Becker!  This local boy has some serious talent!

And don't forget about November's Wicked Wednesday!  We have THREE international guest performers for your BurlyCon prefunk enjoyment!  So come to The Highline on November 11th for a super show and stay after to dance the night away with the performers of Silk Tease Burlesque!

This Fall

10/9/2015

I am so happy that Silk Tease Burlesque has secured a monthly show at one of my favorite bars, The Highline!!!  Wicked Wednesdays is now a monthly burlesque review!  Featuring lots of variety and fun, fun, fun!!!  I hope you will join us for our fall and winter run and that you will join us as we continue to build on this night in 2016!  There are lots of new things on the horizon for all of my fans!  Stay tuned!

So Excited!!!

7/12/2015

I had an amazing time on July 8th performing at El Norte!  It was so wonderful to be working again with the lovely Bella Bambina!  If you haven't been to one of her shows I highly recommend it!  I had fun and so did all my fans who came out to support us!  A BIG thank you to Edwardo at El Norte and to Bella for putting this show together.  I'm very much looking forward to seeing you all again there soon!

In other news, Silk Tease Burlesque has some announcements about to break about upcoming shows happening in the Fall.  I can't wait for September!  I can't say too much yet, but it is going to be WICKED!!!

Stay tuned!
